Mexican Train Dominoes

For the past 5 years we have been playing Dominoes regularly. Carol's sister, who has been living in Florida since her retirement, introduced us to the game. This is a favorite past time for Florida retirees. We were a bit slow to learn the game and all its rules, but have mastered it now. Jim is accused of making up the rules as we play, but of course this is not true.

The Dominoe Gang

Every week after the BYC Lunch Bunch our group will get together and play a game of Mexican Train Dominoes. The game usually lasts until 4 or 5 PM.

There are Double six sets for up to 6 players, Double nine and Double Twelve sets for up to 8 players, and Double Fifteen sets for up to 12 players. We use the most popular Double Twelve set and typically have 8 players. A real good set will cost $20 and some are as low as $10. You can get these sets at most stores, Target, Walmart, BJs.

The Rules we try to follow can be obtained here:

Dominoes is a fun game to play and gives you a chance to practice your addition skills, and other cerebral skills that seem to be fading away!!  In the warmer weather we will also play some Bocce to pass the afternoon away. Occasionally in the summer we will go for a Sail after lunch, or a cruise in one of the power boats. Retirement is a hard life!
